- Abstract
- Decreased burn healing characterized by retarded epithelization, increased infections, and a thinner collagenous scar tissue was noted in rats fed vitamin A deficient diets; addition of methyl lineclate to the diet deterred these symptoms. Rats fed diets with less than 15% protein showed decreased healing of burn ulcers characterized by fibroblastic inactivity, sparcity of granulation tissue, and retarded epithelization. Diets with more than 15% protein produced healing approaching normal.
