- Abstract
- The report describes the development of performance criteria for firefighters' helmets. Biomedical and physiological considerations are discussed. Fire helmet constructions and test methods for impact attenuation, penetration resistance, heat resistance and flammability are described. Results of tests on various types of fire hemets are presented. A proposed standard for fire helmets is included.
