- Abstract
- The Federal Fire Council was organized in April 1930 to serve as a medium of contact between Government departments and establishments on matters relating to fire prevention and protection and to conduct fire safety inspections of Federal buildings in Washington, DC. The need for such an organization was highlighted by the occurrence of fires in three Federal buildings in Washington, DC within a few months and the lack of adequate fire protection staffs in most agencies.
