- Having built up and headed the Fire Research Laboratory at the Central Building Research Institute, Roorkee (U.P.), India between 1968 and 1983, the author traces the work that has been done in India in the area of fire research and testing. He then proceeds to take a look into the future and to outline areas in fire research and testing which he feels require coverage in the context of the fire problem in India.
