Abstract
This is the final report in a series of three which collectively describe the work accomplished on Contract Number CPE-69-2: "A Pilot Study to Determine the Economic Cost of Physician Services and Hospital Care for Burn Injuries Associated With Flammable Fabrics." The objectives of the study as set forth in the contract are: 1. To provide a gross estimate of the current annual cost of physician services and hospital care for the treatment of burn patients whose injury involved fabric ignition. 2. To establish a methodology for determining the annual cost of physician services and hospital care for the treatment of burn patients whose injury involved fabric ignition. 3. To conduct a pilot study of the methodology and determine whether a more accurate cost figure than gross estimates is possible and useful. 4. To determine what, if any, information is available on the cost of treating burn patients and to compile an annotated bibliography.
