Abstract
In a modern world, the search for energetic resources in more and more present, being the consequence of enormous increase on number of consumers 4 of all kinds. This led to the investigations, finding and application of new energy materials on one hand, while, on the other hand, classic energy sources, were simultaneously improved and deveioped to enormous limits. However, the ecological aspects that play more important role nowadays, have pointed out the hydroenergy (or to be more specific hydropower plants) as ecologically the most acceptable solution. Besides other advantages in the technical and economical field, this led to the construction of many new hydro-power plants all over the world and in Yugoslavia. Construction of these objects, same of them being located on open waterways that are used also as the international navigable rivers, logically brought about the obligation of constructing the adequate system for safe and free navigation (channels). Technical requirements for a high reliability in system operation, mean the obligation to apply modern systems for automatic operation and control, with maximum use of security systems, as well as the fire protection systems. The objective of this paper is to present a model of modem fire protection system of such objects (hydropower plants and channels) on a specific example of hydropower system Djerdap.
