- Abstract
- The ability to predict the temperatures, species concentrations and other conditions developed in compartment fires is a key element in the analysis of fire hazard and risk. Decades of study of the phenomena associated with compartment fires have led to the development of computer-based models which can predict the fire induced environment in compartments. This paper will review the state-of-the art of compartment fire modeling and will present examples of current models and their function.
