- Abstract
- Concern over upholstered furniture fires in the United States stems from two sources, loss-of-life statistics and individual catastrophic fires. An estimate of the loss situation can be made from the data gathered in the National National Fire Incident Reporting system (NFIRS), maintained by the US Fire Administration.
