- The purpose of the California State Fire Marshal's listing service is to provide enforcement authorities, architects, engineers, contractors, local building officials, and other interested persons with a readily available source of information of construction materials, equipment, methods of construction, and installation of equipment with meet the minimum fire and panic safety standards established pursuant to Division 12, Part 2, of the Health and Safety Code.
