- Abstract
- A fire-endurance test was made of a wood-joisted floor, 13 ft 6 in. wide by 17 ft 4 in. long, test 281, which had a ceiling of lightweight plaster on metal lath. The test was made in cooperation with the Metal Lath Manufacturers Association to obtain data from which a fire-resistance rating could be derived. The choice of the plaster aggregate and the thickness was based on the results of exploratory test 241. The ceiling was covered with a mixture containing equal parts of gypsum plaster from two manufacturers.
