- Abstract
- In the conduct of accident investigations by the Accident Prevention Laboratory, it became apparent that the relationship of thermal injury from fires involving clothing did not correlate with inforamtion that was supplied by the victim or determined from the residue or remainder of clothing so involved. It was decided that a concerted effort should be made to determine, among other things: 1. Why does a victim fail to recognize he is on fire? 2. Do clothing fires follow any regular pattern? 3. Are present flammability tests relevant to burns suffered by clothing fire victims?
