- Abstract
- The general methodology used in the development of a mandatory flammability standard is presented. An illustrative summary is given of the hazard analysis of the accident data and the subsequent test development and laboratory investigations conducted in the development of the children's sleepwear flammability standards (DOC FF-3-71 and DOC PFF-5-71). Some of the problems encountered in the development of a mandatory standard and the resolution of those problems are discussed.
