- The objective of this test was to subject three different manufacturers' "products-of-combustion" (smoke) detectors to thermal vacuum environments similar to those of SESL Chambers A and B to determine the detectors' reliability under thermal vacuum conditions and to compare the relative sensitivity of the three different units.
