Abstract
A study has been made at the National Bureau of Standards of the different techniques that are or could be used for testing solar collectors and thermal storage devices that are used in solar heating and cooling systems. The various testing methods are reviewed, and a recommended test procedure is outlined including apparatus and instrumentation for both components. The recommended procedures have been written in the format of a standard of the American Society of Heating, Refrigerating, and Air Conditioning Engineers and have been submitted to that organization for consideration.
