- Abstract
- A synthetic char is made to serve as a model compound for coal in the study of submicron aerosol formation during pulverized coal combustion. Both the mineral content and the physical structure of the char can be varied. Combustion of the chars under various conditions produces results which are consistent with a vaporization-condensation model for submicron aerosol formation.
