Abstract
The objectives of this research program were to study flame spreading and extinction on solid fuels. An analysis of upward flame spreading on vertical fuel surfaces is given in publication. In this paper major attention is given to the effects of thermal thicknes of the fuel element (both for planar and cylindrical geometry).
