- Abstract
- The research comprised two essentially separate studies: [a] fiber blending and [b] dyeing of PBI. Various blends of PBI, Nomex, Beta fiber, Verel and Cotton were made, in proporitons of 1:1, 1:2, and 2:1, and by a number of blending procedures. These were woven into narrow fabrics which were evaluated for flammability in several atmosphers, tensile and tearing properties, stiffness and abrasion resistance.
