Abstract
Irrespective of the complexity of soot formation processes in combustion systems, soot research at Princeton has had the essential focus that knowledge of fuel pyrolysis kinetics was the key element in determining the relative tendency of a fuel to soot. This presenttion is a review of the Princeton University efforts in this regard.
