- Abstract
- Experiments were carried out to determine the area of body burned and the depth of burn likely to be suffered by clothing fire victims as a function of the garments worn. The method was to simulate real life accidents by burning simple garments (dresses) or garment combinations (usually dresses and slips) on full size mannequins instrumented with twenty-four calibrated heat flux sensors (size 6X child) or with temperature sensitive papers and pellets (size 10 woman or size 39 man).
