Abstract
The publication contains the keynote address and all the technical papers presented during the Symposium on Underground Heat and Chilled Water Distribution Systems, which was held on November 26 and 27, 1973 in Washington, D.C. The Symposium was sponsored jointly by the National Bureau of Standards, the National Capital Chapter of the American Society of Heating, Refrigerating and Air-Conditioning Engineers, the Building Research Institute and the Association of Physical Plant Administrators. The subject matter covered in the papers includes energy, economics, design criteria, heat transfer, corrosion protection, specification, operation, and maintenance related to underground pipes.
