- Absolute rate constants for the reaction of O((3)P) with ethylene, propylene, and propylene-d6 were determined over the temperature range 258-861 K using a laser photolysis-chemiluminescence technique. Simple transition state theory predictions re shown to provide a reasonable explanation for non-Arrhenius temperature behavior. In this paper I report new measurements of the rates of the reactions of 0 atoms with ethylene, propylene and propylene-d6. The measurements were carried out over the temperature range of 258-861 K and the results are compared to predictions based on transtion state theory.
