- A simplified, repeatible and accurate laboratory-scale test method is used in the Factory Mutual Research Flammability Laboratory to quantify the fire properties of polymers. Manufacturers, maintenance personnel, fire fighters and regulatory organizations can use the method and results to determine fire hazard, improve fire safety of materials and write appropriate codes. The use of established scientific principles in the test method also enable understanding of the fire behavior of and further improvements to materials.
