Abstract
This report combines several fact sheets that contain the latest data on accidental deaths and injuries in the United States. Since the mortality data presented for 1968 were compiled according to 1967 statistical rules, they are not the same as the final data for 1968 which are considerably changed. The details for trend comparability will not be available for some time. This report is based on injury data provided by the Division of Health Interview Statistics, National Center for Health Statistics of the Public Health Service. The mortality data were compiled from Vital Statistics of the United States, 1967, published by the National Center for Health Statistics and by the Environmental Epidemiology Branch. Unless otherwise noted the data presented are the average annual number or rate.
