Abstract
A potential dust-explosion hazard exists whenever combustible dusts accumulate, are handled or are processed. Our expanding industrialization, combined with development of new products, increases the variety and quantity of materials used in dust form as well as the potential sources of ignition. A major factor effective in the past for limiting the dust hazard is application of knowledge on causes and preventive means gained through experience and research. Through group effort, information can be acquired at a greater rate and disseminated more readily.
