- Abstract
- Lease AFEX, Inc., modified its standard design of an automatic fire protection system used in the past on logging equipment, and long-term, in-mine tested system on a Flat-Alli's HD-41B dozer at the Lemmons and Company coal mine, Boonville, Indiana. The modification of the standard AFEX system is called a point-type thermal sensor, automatic fire protection system. The in-mine test took place in late 1975, and early 1076. The system was then tested by simulating a fire on the dozer. The system operated successfully after the 4 months of in-mine endurance testing.
