Abstract
Often the situation is encountered in nature where a buoyant plume impinges upon an interface at which the density of fluid changes abruptly. Such situations can also occur in fire environments, and these flows are of some practical interest to fire scientists and engineers. It is the purpose of this paper to report the results of computations performed using a mathematical model describing a plume rise in an enclosed initially two-layer environment
