Abstract
ONLY ABSTRACT IN ENGLISH The main objective of this report is to identify how the Euroclasses according to harmonised European standards for reaction to fire could replace the existing classification of building products in the Swedish building regulations. Test data from the Room/Comer Test, the SBI, the "small flame test" and the flooring radiant panel test was compared with data from the same products when tested according to the corresponding Nordic test methods. The Room/Comer Test and the Non-combustibility test are part of both the Swedish and the European system. In those cases it was also possible to make direct comparison with classification criteria. For large groups of products it was found that Swedish tests and classes could be replaced with Euroclasses without any problems. Possible problems may occur for the low performance class for linings leading to a situation where less safe products are allowed in Swedish buildings. It is believed that the reference scenario, the Room/Comer Test, could be used to better determine the reaction to fire properties than the SBI procedure in such cases.
