- Abstract
- The tests described in this report forms part of a research program to study both transient and steady state temperature for concrete and reinforced concrete heated from ambient temperature (20 deg C) up to 600 deg C. The particular aspect described in this report investigated the effect of rate of heating and curing on concrete not older than six weeks. A hypothesis is presented explaining the reason for explosive spalling and recommendations given on how to avoid such disasters.
