Abstract
The following properties were measured on 10 typical apparel fabrics: thermal conductance, specific heat, auto ignition temperature, optical properties of original and charred fabrics, reaction kinetic parameters (by thermogravimetric methods), reaction enthalpies, ignition times in radiative and flame environments. A detailed, lumped-parameter modeling analysis of the probability of ignition has been developed.
