- Abstract
- This paper gives an account of a data collection scheme for automatic fire detection system information. The relevant data required for a scheme of this type is described in the form of a data requirement specification. The initial and subsequent response of the data sources is discussed and the major problems encountered in the acquisition of this field data are highlighted. The results of the data collection scheme are given together with a representative sample of collected data for illustrative purposes only. For each of the sites studied, every event is categorized and event rates for the times between events in each category. Specific conclusions regarding the false alarm rates from various causes are drawn.
