- A new polyester laminating resin, Atlac 711-05A, with an ASTM E-84 "Tunnel Test" rating of 15 and corrosion resistance equivalent to that of the well-known bisphenol-A fumarate resin is introduced. Its fire retardancy, chemical resistance and mechanical properties of laminates are described and compared to the bisphenol-A fumarate and two prominent HET-acid based polyester resins. The sensitivity, repeatability, and usefulness of several widely used fire tests are discussed.
