- Abstract
- Propagation characteristics of premixed H2-O2-N2 flames near the flammability limit were investigated in order to improve the understanding of the extinction of premixed flames. Since the dominating effect of buoyancy is not present, downward propagating flames are more fundamental than upward propagating flames in studies of flame structure. Therefore the flammability limit, flame propagation velocity and flame temperature were measured using downward propagating flames in pyrex tubes.
