Abstract
In the past probability risk assessment was predicted using either fire modelling or subjective risk assessment. A common problem encountered, if only one of the two mentioned approaches is used, is the reliability of the obtained results. A state-of-the-art working model has been developed using subjective engineering analysis in combination with a parameter adjusted computer model. WPI/Fire, a single-room zone fire model has been used in the computer modelling section of this thesis, and subjective risk assessment has been accomplished by using the experience of three experts. The experts' risk assessments are in good agreement with each other and feasibility of such methodology has been proven. The new method resulted in a scoring model guideline that can be used in the development of a methodology for similar type compartments.
