- Abstract
- Statistics for the period July 1963 through June 1964, with an adjustment to include the hospital experience of persons who died. Injuries are the cause of hospitalization of about 11 percent of the total number of persons discharged, excluding patients who have had deliveries. Including deliveries, injuries still are over 9 percent of the total, while heart disease accounts for 5 percent; cancer, 3 percent; and diabetes, 1 percent.
