Abstract
The chemical species produced in large buoyancy controlled diffusion flames include a number of trace species some of which are toxic and hence of great interest in the study of accidental fires. In addition, the products of combustion can still be flammable when the mixture ratio is fuel rich and this material can present a severe fire hazard when it is transported to adjacent rooms.
