- Abstract
- Ready-to-use retarded mortars were found to have better strenght and working properties than site-mixed mortars, but their lack of conformance with British Standards was disappointing. Quality assurance would improve conformance. At the time of the survey 40% of the sands did not conform with the standard, but now that the standard has been revised, only 10% would not conform.
