- Abstract
- In a study at the Nation Bureau of Standards (NBS), funded by the Department of Housing and Urban Development (HUD), selected problems were evaluated related to the storage of mobile homes for use as temporary housing following natural disasters. HUD maintains approximately 8,850 units at storage centers around the United States for such use. The particular problems studied were rain leaks; infiltration of dust, insects and rodents; in-transit damage; and moisture problems of sealed mobile homes. Evaluation of anchorage of unoccupied mobile homes in storage was also a study objective.
