- The first part of this work is devoted to equations suitable for the description of the turbulent exchange process between the recirculation regions behind axisymmetric flame holders, and also to measurement techniques for the determination of the mean residence times in the recirculation zones. Subsequently, the exchange processes and the measuring procedures are investigated theoretically by means of simplified models.
