- Abstract
- Three experimental full-scale tests are described, one with each fire growth rate. The fuel used was heptane burnt in square steel pans. By moving a tight steel cover over the pan at a given rate transient growing fires were developed. The tests were conducted in a sealed room except for a vertical, circular opening to the outside of diameter 0.20 meter. The measured data presented are the temperature, pressure rise, oxygen concentration and the gas velocity at the opening. The tests should be considered as pilot tests of describing the pressure conditions in a closed room due to a growing fire.
