- Abstract
- In an attempt to define the nature and characteristics of a fatal fire, a review and an analysis of the available data base involving fire fatalities were undertaken and completed. It was hoped that these data would provide a means of gaining an understanding of what happens when a person is killed as a result of a fire. Unfortunately, the data are not of sufficient quality to permit a detailed analysis, which could reveal high payoff areas, or to clearly indicate priorities.
