Abstract
The objective of this research is the development, if possible of water additives having two important primary functions. The first is the depression of the freezing point of water to at least -65 deg F. The second is the enhancement of the fire extinguishing properties of water (for class A fires) by a factor of two or more. Other specifications directed to military needs have the nature of limitations and include restrictions on the properties of water solutions to minimize or eliminate corrosiveness, toxicity, viscosity, etc.
