- Abstract
- A combination of mass spectrometric and optical spectroscopic studies has been made to establish a mechanism for phosphorus controlled flame retardancy in thermoplastics. It is shown that a vapor phase mode of flame inhibition can account for the known flame retardancy effect of triphenylphospine-oxide in polyester substrates.
