- Abstract
- My subject includes both regulations and standards with regard to fire detection systems in the U.S. As used in my paper, a regulation is a rule, ordinance or law prescribed by an authority to regulate some aspect of conduct. In the context of this paper, an example would be a requirement or law imposed by a local building code authority which would require the installation of automatic fire detection equipment in all newly-constructed buildings of a specified occupancy class.
