- Abstract
- The sources of accidents in residential occupancies were investigated, and certain requirements to eliminate or mitigate the effect of causes pertinent to the building, its parts, or equipment were developed for the NBS Guide Criteria for the Design and Evaluation of Operation BREAKTHROUGH Housing Systems (NBS Report 10200). In an appendix, the home accident statistics indicated in a Department of Housing and Urban Development contract report, 'Home Accident Causes and Recommended Remedial Measures,' were related to the health and safety criteria.
