- Abstract
- In order to fight a fire in an effective way, there is need for a correct choice of extinguishing media depending on what is burning. In this report, a proposal for test procedure is presented which enables to make a better and safety choice of extinguishing media for liquidfied chemical fires. The results that can be obtained are the rate of burning and the flame radiation for the chemical in question and extinguishing effectiveness of different types of extinguishing foams, dry powders and gases.
