- Abstract
- This Manufacturer Submission Procedures document is designed specifically for use by a manufacturer that wishes to submit a wildland fire chemical for evaluation. The following chemicals are included within existing Forest Service specifications: 1. Long-term fire retardants; 2. Short-term fire retardants; 3. Wetting agents; and 4. Wildland fire foam. Other types of chemicals, not covered by existing specifications, may be submitted under a research collection agreement (CA). The manufacturer shall submit a proposal describing the manner in which a product is to be used in wildland fire control. Appropriate testing will be determined by the Fire Equipment Branch Chief after review of the proposal and consultation with technical experts at San Dimas Technology and Development Center and Intermountain Fire Services Laboratory.
