- Abstract
- An effort is proposed to synthesize the available engineering and scientific information in the area of unwanted fires. This area usually called Fire Research involves many scientific areas and is utilized by Fire Safety Engineers, Firemen and others. The area has received less attention than it deserved because of its diffuseness and complexity. It would be expected that significant improvements in the design of fire resistant structures, in the design of fire detection and communication systems, in the methods of fire fighting fires, and in the performance of fire fighitng teams would be the fruits of the proposed long range program.
