- Abstract
- The estimted annual loss from fires on farms in recent years has been as high as approximately $100,000,000 worth of property and 3,500 lives. This is a direct challenge to everyone concerned withconservation of national wealth and resources. The United States Department of Agriculture, in an effort to reduce this extensive loss, is studying the causes of farm fires and devising ways and means of control and prevention. In this work the Department is actively cooperating with a number of organizations and associations interested in fire prevention.
