- Abstract
- The literature on uncontrolled fires has not fully answered our questions about the interaction in such fires of burning rate and induced air flow. Since induced winds and burning rate can accelerate each other, an abnormally fast burning fire may result. It seems useful to determine and describe by model laws the limiting conditions for the transition of a fully involved fuel bed burning in the open air from a normally burning fire to an abnormally fast burning fire.
