- Abstract
- A technical report describing the development of an algebraic model for recirculating turbulent flow with strong buoyancy has been completed during this report period. In this report a general background study points to the need of a simple yet effective model for buoyant turbulent flows. Basic concepts behind this model are introduced and discussed. Computer results have been obtained based on different versions of this algebraic model and the governing differential equations. Comparisons are made for the constant eddy-viscosity model and the mixing length model. One salient feature of this model is a dynamical formulation for the shear control of turbulence, in addition to that of buoyancy control.
